We love this girl!

Finally, done with tests, done with papers, done with worrying . . . for now. It's nice to have one more semester behind us. The summer's going to be busy, but it will be nice to spend time on something other than school full time. On Thursday, we were wondering since classes are done, where is the summer weather?Thankfully, the snow only stuck around for a little while, and by Friday afternoon we were ready to start a string of parties to celebrate this little girl's first birthday. Friday afternoon we got to party with Grandma and Grandpa Webb. We all enjoyed some delicious cupcakes that Janae made while Ainslie worked on a carrot stick (she did get some cupcake too). Later that evening we had several of our friends from high school come over to our apartment. It's been a while since we've all been together, and we enjoyed the chance to catch up.
While the rest of us were visiting, Ainslie spent most of the evening playing in her new favorite spot, the bookshelf. The next day we were able to get together with Sue, Breezy, Adam and Angie for one more party.
Putting together some birthday presents requires a whole team of dedicated engineers.Sunday afternoon it was off to Payson for a party with Grandma Jody, Grandpa Dave, Michael and Heather. It was a great afternoon to get out and run around the lawn for a little bit and enjoy the flowers. Ainslie got lots of great presents from everyone, and we're very grateful for everyone who loves our little girl. She got lots of fun toys, new clothes, and even a BYU book. What a great birthday!

Finals . . .

Well, just as predicted, finals have been pretty busy. Fortunately, Janae's professors decided to cancel several of her finals, so she has been nice and lets Josh do a lot of studying. A whole lot of studying. Late nights at the library are no fun at all, but it's only for a few more days. We'll be finished by the end of this week, and summer vacation is looking pretty nice these days (even if we will be working and doing classes during the summer). Even with finals and everything else, we've still managed to have enough time for other things than tests . . .

Time for things like Ainslie's first hair cut! Just a little trim in front.

With all of the studying that we have been doing, Ainslie has found time to do a little reading of her own.
And, while we've been working away on preparing for tests, she's been working on playing the guitar.

As wild as it is, we're surviving. With a little help from the newest flavor of M&M's,
a nap or two along the way,
and all of the help that we've gotten from wonderful family and friends, we just might make it . . .

Teeth!

A little while back, we mentioned that Ainslie has some teeth coming in. We wrestled and wrestled, but only ended up with a blurry picture of the little guys poking through. The other day we used some peas to bribe her into showing the teeth off a little more clearly. You can see three of the four that she has on top, and all weekend she's been working on two for the bottom. It's crazy how quick our little girl is growing up!

Poster

Today Janae presented her poster at the Mentored Learning conference here at BYU. Her research was met with good interest, and her poster brought general acclaim for its attractive presentation of the project's findings. Whew, it's nice to have that out of the way . . . Meanwhile, Josh is pretty excited about the new t-shirt that came in the mail with his pre-ordered copy of the new CD from one of his favorite bands, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. A t-shirt may not be not quite as noteworthy as presenting a semester's worth of research, but it's still some good news . . .
