Wittenberg

On our way to Berlin we made a stop in a little town called Wittenberg. We've been trying to get out there ever since we first came to Leipzig, but just couldn't make it happen any sooner. Wittenberg (actually called "Lutherstadt Wittenberg") is where Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the door of the catholic church, a well known moment in the history of the reformation. The church where he nailed the theses is still standing, and they've cast the 95 theses in bronze on the door of the church now. There are several other Luther monuments in the town including other churches where Luther taught. They also have some really big bratwurst. We didn't have much time there, but we're glad we could squeeze it in.
